about.
Freddy De Shon is a metal sculptor and fabricator. Starting in 1986, he attended The Atlanta College of Art and later Georgia State University focusing on sculpture. In 1988 he accepted the opportunity to apprentice under a master carpenter in Berlin, Germany. He returned to Atlanta and worked as an independent woodworker until he discovered welding in 1996 and his life was forever changed. In a short time he was designing and fabricating bars, tables, stools, and railings for a number of local businesses. You will find his work at Fritti, Aurora Coffee, Ria's Bluebird, Little 5 Corner Tavern, Edgewood Corner Tavern, Doc Cheys (Emory,Virginia Highlands, and Grant Park locations), Osteria 832, The Book House, Kelly's Closet, Inman Park Pet Works, Java Lords, Elmyr, Ale Yeah, Criminal Records and Southerland Lofts.

Freddy De Shon now splits his time between independent metal jobs and working as a member of local union 479, welding sets and props for movie productions. He is always striving to produce unique pieces and trying to blur the line between functionality and art.
